TULSA, Okla. – The Oral Roberts baseball team looks to remain unbeaten in Summit League play as they travel to face Omaha for a three-game set beginning Thursday at 6 p.m. from Tal Anderson Field. Game two of the series is slated for Friday at 3 p.m. followed by the finale on Saturday at 1 p.m.

Inside the Series
• Thursday's series opener marks the 45th meeting all-time between ORU and Omaha.
• The Golden Eagles lead the all-time series 33-11 and have won four straight against the Mavericks.
• A season ago, ORU took six of the eight matchups against Omaha, including two of three on the road.

• ORU enters the weekend as one of only seven teams in the country still unbeaten in conference action. The Golden Eagles are off to their best start in League play since beginning 7-0 in 2017.
• Despite dropping its midweek contest against Oklahoma, ORU remains one of the hottest teams in the nation with wins in 10 of its last 12 games.
• Entering the week, the Golden Eagles were receiving votes in the USA Today Baseball Coaches Poll. The appearance in the USA Today poll marked the first for ORU this season.
• On Monday, outfielder Matt Hogan was named the TicketSmarter Summit League Peak Performer of the Week after launching two home runs and driving in eight RBI a week ago. The weekly award was the redshirt senior's second of the season.
• The Melville, New York, native continues to lead the League in homers (10), RBI (42) and sacrifice flies (5). At the national level, Hogan ranks seventh in sac flies and 12th in RBI.
• Jonah Cox enters the weekend ranked second nationally in hits (53), third in triples (5), 12th in hits per game (1.8) and 18th in batting average (.434).
• The Golden Eagles will run the trio of RHP Brooks Fowler, RHP Jakob Hall and LHP Harley Gollert to the mound this weekend. The trio has combined for a 9-5 record and a 3.57 ERA.
• Entering the weekend, the Golden Eagle offense leads the Summit League in batting average (.307), runs (221), hits (321), home runs (42), triples (10), RBI (201), on-base percentage (.393), slugging percentage (.500), stolen bases (51), total bases (523) and walks (131). On the mound, ORU tops the conference in ERA (4.28), batting average against (.244), WHIP (1.32), saves (10), innings pitched (254.0), hits allowed per nine innings (8.0), strikeouts-to-walk ratio (2.4) and strikeouts (267). Defensively, the Golden Eagles top the League in putouts (789), assists (289), double plays (28) and fielding percentage (.986).
• Nationally, ORU ranks fifth in fielding percentage, sixth in double plays, 13th in hits, 27th in triples, 28th in stolen bases, 33rd in ERA and 34th in batting average.Â
• On the mound, Joshua Caravalho leads the League in ERA (3.26) and is tied atop the conference in wins (4) with Gollert.
• At the national level, Hall sits 10th in walks allowed per nine innings (1.12).
• The Golden Eagles are coming off their 20th Summit League Tournament Championship and 29th NCAA Regional appearance after finishing with a 38-20 record in 2022. ORU returned 15 players from last year's NCAA Regional squad and welcomed 17 newcomers in the offseason.
• After an electric 2022 season out of the bullpen, RHP Cade Denton received Preseason First Team All-American honors from the National Collegiate Baseball Writer's Association (NCBWA) and was tabbed the Preseason Summit League Pitcher of the Year by D1 Baseball and Perfect Game USA. The Rowlett, Texas, native was also named to the Preseason Watch List for the NCBWA Stopper of the Year Award, given to the top relief pitcher in NCAA Division I Baseball. Through 13 appearances this season, Denton has recorded a 1.38 ERA and five saves, which ranks 27th nationally.
• In the 2023 Summit League Preseason Coaches' Poll, ORU was selected as the unanimous favorite to claim the regular season crown. The Golden Eagles received 42 points and earned all six first-place votes they could. Redshirt senior Mac McCroskey and Denton were named the Preseason Player and Pitcher to Watch for ORU as voted on by the league's seven head coaches. Senior Jake McMurray and Denton garnered Preseason All-Summit League honors from Perfect Game USA.
• Entering the 2023 season, ORU ranks sixth all-time in NCAA history with a .652 winning percentage.Â
• Since 2001, ORU has made 17 NCAA Regional appearances, which rank as the most among Oklahoma schools.
• Head Coach Ryan Folmar enters his 11th season at the helm of the Golden Eagles and has compiled a 339-220 (.606) overall record. Â
Scouting the Opponent
• The Mavericks enter the weekend on a four-game win streak and are 8-2 at home this season.
• The reigning Summit League Player of the Year, Mike Boeve, leads the charge for Omaha with a .418 average to go along with a homer and 16 RBI.
• On the mound, the Mavericks will throw LHP Caleb Riedel, RHP Preston Tenney and RHP Harrison Kreiling.
