TULSA, Okla. – Oral Roberts volleyball head coach Sheera Sirola announced Tuesday that Frank Craig has been named the program's assistant coach.
"I'm very excited and humbled to be starting as a full-time coach here at Oral Roberts," Craig said. "I am so thankful for Coach Sirola to extend this opportunity to me. I look forward to continue developing our young women on and off the court. 2018 is going to be a great year!"
Craig takes over as the assistant coach after spending the past three seasons with the Golden Eagles in a graduate assistant role. He will help with all aspects of the team, including on-court coaching, scouting, recruiting and work primarily with the hitters and blockers.
A native of Jacksonville, Florida, Craig recently was recognized as one of 10 recipients of the Diversity Award by the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) allowing him the chance to attend the AVCA convention and 2017 NCAA Championship in Kansas City, Missouri.
"I am excited to promote Frank and keep him a part of the coaching staff," Sirola said. "He has grown into a leader with the program in just a short time and is no doubt ready for this next challenge. His youthful energy will be an asset on the court and as we push to recruit quality student-athletes."
The Golden Eagles reached the postseason for the first time since 2006 when they advanced to the National Invitational Volleyball Championship (NIVC) following a runner-up finish in The Summit League regular season and championship.
