TULSA, Okla. – The Oral Roberts volleyball team was unable to slow down a hot North Dakota State squad falling, 3-0, Sunday afternoon in The Summit League regular season finale.
With the loss, the Golden Eagles will enter The Summit League tournament as the No. 6 seed as a tie with South Dakota gave the Coyotes the No. 5 seed due to sweeping the season series. ORU will enter the postseason tournament Friday with a matchup against the No. 3 seed, Omaha.
Offensively the Golden Eagles struggled with a sub .100 hitting percentage for the first time as a team since posting a .087 percentage Sept. 29, 2014 against Denver.
The Bison were led by Emily Miron with a match-high 13 kills and Mikaela Purnell on the defensive side of the net with 23 digs.
Oral Roberts: Laura Milos finished with 10 kills as Lucija Bojanjac added 19 assists.
NDSU: Emily Miron tallied 13 kills while Mikaela Purnell posted 23 digs in a win for the Bison.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- ORU finished with a season-low .090 hitting percentage as they failed to reach the .100 mark for the first time since 9/29/14 against Denver.
- Offensively the 29 kills were also the lowest since a 24 kill performance against Portland State earlier this season.
- Laura Milos reached just 10 kills as she missed the 20 kill mark for just the 10th time in 29 matches this year.
- ORU and NDSU split the season series with the visiting team winning each match.
The Golden Eagles head to Denver as the No. 6 seed in next week's Summit League Tournamnet. ORU opens tournament action Friday against Omaha at 7:30 p.m.
