Solid Offensive Effort Lifts ORU Over Leathernecks, 3-1

MACOMB, Ill. – The Oral Roberts volleyball team hit over the .300 mark for just the fourth time this season taking a 3-1 win over Western Illinois Sunday in Summit League action.

The offense for ORU was impressive again Sunday hitting over.360 in three of the four sets taking a 25-11 25-16, 19-25, 25-16 victory.

Individually, four players hit over .350 led by Shelby Cox's .533 hitting percentage while Laura Milos tallied 20 kills. Milos also finished with a career high 19 digs for her 12th double-double of the season and 20th of her career.

Jovana Poljasevic and Cox also finished with double figure kills as each added 10 in the win. Lucija Bojanjac added 46 assists to help set the offense.

Western Illinois hit just .112 as a team and was led by Peyton Crosser who tallied 13 kills.

THE LEADERS
Oral Roberts: Laura Milos finished with 20 kills for the eighth straight match and tallied a career-high 19 digs.
Western Illinois: Peyton Crosser finished with 13 kills and eight digs for the Leathernecks. 

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- ORU hit over .400 in both the first and fourth set and added a .361 hitting percentage in the second set as the Golden Eagles dominated the Leathernecks.
- Milos posted a career-high 19 digs to finish with her 12th double-double of the season and 20th of her career.
- Milos extended her streak of 20 plus kills to eight consecutive matches and 13 of the last 14.
- Bojanjac posted 46 assists giving her six straight matches with 40 or more assists.
- Shelby Cox hit over the .500 mark for the second time in three matches and the fourth time this season.
- Jovana Poljasevic hit over .340 for a third straight match and has 22 kills in her last two matches with just four errors.
- ORU swept the season series against Western Illinois and has now won 12 straight matches vs. the Leathernecks. 

UP NEXT
