OXFORD, Miss. – The 2015 volleyball season gets underway Friday and Saturday as Oral Roberts heads south for the Magnolia Invitational hosted by Ole Miss.
The Golden Eagles open the season Friday against the host Rebels at 7 p.m. Action can be seen on SEC Network+ which is part of ESPN3 and the WatchESPN App. ORU will conclude tournament action Saturday against Northwestern State and Tennessee State.

► Oral Roberts volleyball enters its 39th season in 2015 just three wins shy of 900 in program history. In her 13th season as the head coach, Sheera Sirola returns one of her most talented teams that include Summit League Newcomer of the Year, Laura Milos and All-Freshman Team setter Lucija Bojanjac.
► Milos was one of just two players in the Summit League and 26 in the country to record over 500 kills last season. The sophomore returns after finishing in the top 10 in kills and kills per set in the ORU single-season record books last season.
► Bojanjac returns as the only setter with collegiate experience on the Golden Eagles' roster after finishing with 1,295 assists as a freshman. She averaged 10.88 assists per set which was the seventh best mark in a single-season at ORU.
► Returning for her senior season, Jovana Poljasevic is just one of two seniors for ORU. As a sophomore she ranked in the top 10 of the league rankings in hitting percentage after battling back from an injury and posting a .271 clip.
► Last season the Golden Eagles struggled defensively at the net finishing eighth in blocks per set. Shelby Cox led the team with 73 blocks while Poljasevic added 71 blocks, ORU looks to put more emphasis on its blocking game in 2015.
► A deep group of talented newcomers join ORU in 2015 as the Golden Eagles could look for help from its younger players again. Five true freshman and one junior college transfer joins the ORU roster after starting four freshman last season.
► Friday's match against Ole Miss will be broadcast on SEC Network+ which is a part of ESPN3 and the WatchESPN App. It is the second time in as many years the Golden Eagles will be on the one-year old network after knocking off Arkansas last year in a thrilling 3-2 victory over the Razorbacks.
THE TOURNAMENT FIELD
► Host Ole Miss is coming off a 22-10 season in 2014 however an 8-10 record in the SEC placed the Rebels seventh in the final standings.
► The Rebels are led by senior middle blocker, Nakeyta Clair, who set a single-season record with 366 kills last season for Ole Miss.
► A pair of juniors will also help Ole Miss with Melanie Crow and Aubrey Edie. Crow set an Ole Miss single-season record for service aces (42) while Edie set a single-season mark for assists with 1,322.
► A familiar foe in former Southland Conference rival Northwestern State finished 16-17 a year ago went 10-6 in league play but won three straight matches to earn the league's automatic bid to the NCAA tournament.
► Glynna Johnson returns for her senior season with the Lady Demons after leading the team in blocks last season with 160.
► Tennessee State enters 2015 after a 10-21 record a season ago. The Tigers won just four matches in the Ohio Valley finishing 4-12 to place 11th.

The Golden Eagles will head east on I-44 for the second straight season as they participate in the Dr. Mary Jo Wynn Invitational at Missouri State in Springfield, Mo. ORU will open tournament action Friday, September 4 against Marquette before Saturday matches with the Lady Bears and Miami.
