TULSA, Okla. – The Oral Roberts women's soccer team defeated the UMKC Kangaroos 2-1 Friday evening at the Case Soccer Complex.
The first half ended with zeros on the scoreboard. The ORU defense held UMKC to a total of six shots in the first half, while the Golden Eagle offense had 12.
In the second half, freshman Shayla Padilla scored her first career goal as a Golden Eagle when she received a cross from the outside and scored the first goal for ORU from inside the box at the 50 minute mark. Sierra Beall was credited the assist.
UMKC's Kelsey Mothershead scored an unassisted goal in the 70th minute for the Kangaroos when she counter attacked, dribbled down the middle of the field and connected with the back of the net from 20 yards out.

- Paige Vincent played all 90 minutes for ORU and recorded a game high of 12 saves. Last season, Vincent recorded a total of 13 saves.
