Women's Soccer Shuts Out Denver on Senior Day, 4-0

TULSA, Okla. – The Oral Roberts women's soccer team sent off its eight seniors in a great fashion Sunday afternoon at the Case Soccer Complex, as the Golden Eagles shutout Denver in a 4-0 victory. It marks the fifth-consecutive win for ORU as the team heads to the Summit League Championships as the No. 2 seed Nov. 5 in Brookings, S.D.

With the win, the Golden Eagles picked up its fifth shutout of the season. Junior Brittney Lawrence added two goals in the match to move her to 10 this season. Both Maria Stordahl and Kylie Dellis added to the ORU lead with a goal apiece. The goals pushed the pair to two goals each on the season.

Junior Megan Guico assisted on a pair of goals during the match, including a corner kick helper during the opening goal of the match. Kayla Keller picked up her sixth assist of the season and Chloe Basnett recorded her second helper of the year.

  • Brittney Lawrence scored her ninth and 10th goals of the year in the match while Maria Stordahl and Kylie Dellis added a goal apiece.
  • ORU edged Denver in shots, 10-9.

The Golden Eagles will travel to Brookings, S.D. Nov. 5 to take on No. 3 seed South Dakota State in the semifinals of the Summit League Championships. The team will take on the Jackrabbits (10-5-3, 5-1-2) in the second match of the day beginning at 3 p.m.
