TULSA, Okla. – The Oral Roberts women's soccer team picked up a decisive overtime win in league play Thursday afternoon defeating South Dakota State, 3-2, at the Case Soccer Complex.

The rain did not slow down ORU's Tahlor Lyman as the junior netted her first two goal of the season, including the game-winner in overtime.

Sam Forgione put in the first goal of the match 14 minutes into play. Forgione's goal was not only the first this season, but the first of her four-year career at ORU. The Tulsa, Okla. Native was able to put the ball in the back of the net after a shot by teammate Kayla Keller to give the Golden Eagles their first lead of the match.

South Dakota State, who came into Thursday's contest second in the Summit League standings, picked up both of their goals via the penalty kick. The Jackrabbits got their first PK goal in the 34th to tie the match and then in the 51st to go up 2-1. SDSU's leading goal scorer Diana Potterveld scored both chances for the Jackrabbits.

As the rain began to fall in the second half, the Golden Eagles continued to put shots on net but SDSU goalkeeper Nicole Inskeep consistently held the attack at bay with nifty saves in net. It wasn't until the 79th minute that ORU was able to break through to tie the match as Lyman sent a ball to the back of the net off a cross by junior Maria Stordahl.

The game-winner was setup by junior Brittney Lawrence as the Golden Eagle defense stripped the Jackrabbits of the ball and sent it to a cutting Lyman who touched it into the goal.
