TULSA, Okla. - The Oral Roberts women's soccer team fell to crosstown rival No. 19 ranked Tulsa, 2-1, Sunday night at the Case Soccer Complex. A record 1,249 fans packed the stands for the match.
Senior forward Kayla Keller cut the TU lead in half with six minutes remaining but Tulsa was able to hold off a late ORU (4-3-2) rally for the victory.
TU wasted no time getting on the board as Alexa Sidorakis put in a goal four minutes into play from 18-yards out, just over the reach of goalkeeper Maddie Rhodes to give the Golden Hurricane
(9-1-0) their first lead.
Neither team put another goal in net for the remainder of the first half, as they combined for 10 shots in the period.
TU increased its lead to 2-0 in the 65th minute when Madison Smith connected on her second goal of the year from 25-yard out.
Keller was able to break away from the TU defense in the 85th minute to score her team-high fourth goal of the season.
TU's Madison Smith connected on a shot from 25-yards out to push the Hurricane lead to 2-0.
