TULSA, Okla. – For the first time since 2009, the Oral Roberts women's golf team earned Golfer of the Year, as junior Alejandra Acosta earned the distinction.
A three-time all-conference selection, Acosta earned her second individual award having also been named the 2013 Southland Conference Freshman of the Year. In 2014-15, Acosta put together a season for the ages, winning the ORU Shootout with a school record tying 67, and averaged 74.7 strokes per round this season, the second lowest in ORU history. Only recently-inducted ORU Hall of Famer Pamela Ontiveros has finished a year with a lower stroke average.
This is the fifth of 15 editions of the #TopORUMoments from 2014-15 as selected by the ORU Media Relations Department and a social media poll.
