ORU Qualifies Seven Individuals, One Relay for NCAA Preliminary Rounds

TULSA, Okla.  – The Oral Roberts track and field programs qualified for seven individual events as well as one relay race at the 2019 NCAA Preliminary Rounds, it was announced Thursday. ORU will compete in five individual events on the men's side, including Jaden Purnell in both the long and the triple jump, and two events on the women's side. The men's 4x400-meter relay team also earned a spot at the meet.

News and Notes
- Purnell is the highest ranked Golden Eagle entering the meet, sitting eighth in the west region in the triple jump.

- Israel Nelson and Purnell will each make a return to the NCAA Preliminary rounds for the third time in their careers. Nelson went in 2016 and 2018, while Purnell will be back for the third straight season.

Brad Dormeus (44) – 400m dash
Israel Nelson (26) – 110m hurdles
Matt Owen (32) – Pole Vault
