TULSA, Okla. – Oral Roberts track and field's Israel Nelson and Mercy Abire will start competition at the NCAA National Championship meet, beginning their events on Wednesday and Thursday, respectively. The meet kicks of Wednesday from Historic Hayward Field in Eugene, Oregon.
News and Notes
- Nelson will run in the semifinals of the 110-meter hurdles on Wednesday at 7:32 p.m. The top two from each of the three heats, as well as the next two fastest times, will advance to Friday night's finals.
- Abire will take to the long jump runway on Thursday at 7:30 p.m.
- Nelson earned the final qualifying spot at the NCAA West Preliminary Meet, running 13.90 to finish 12th.
- Abire was fourth in the region in the long jump, posting a mark of 6.21m (20-4.5).
