ORU Qualifies 13 for NCAA Preliminaries

TULSA, Okla. – The official list of student-athletes selected for the 2016 NCAA Preliminary Rounds was released Thursday and Oral Roberts University will be well represented with a total of 13 competitors at the meet.

The largest group to ever qualify from ORU will compete in 12 different events at the NCAA West Preliminary meet, which will be held at the University of Kansas May 28-28. On the women's side, Madison Reynolds (400m dash) and Tamaira Williams (100m dash) are each ranked inside the top 20 in the field at 15th and 18th, respectively. For the men, Israel Nelson ranks 23rd in the 110m hurdles, while D'Khari Hicks is 25th in the 400m dash. The men's 4x400m relay team is 14th in the west region.

The top 12 individuals in each event and the top 12 relay teams will advance to the NCAA National Championship meet in Eugene, Oregon.
