VERMILLION, S.D. – As action started at the 2016 Summit League Outdoor Track and Field Championship, it was junior Tiffany Richeson who stole the show with a personal best and runner-up finish in the pole vault.

News & Notes
- Richeson cleared the bar at 4.06m (13-3.75), only missing once on the first five heights attempted. The early success earned her a spot on the medalist stand in second despite being one of four vaulters to clear that height. It took a league record breaking performance to best Richeson in the event.

- Brittany McDonald also set a personal best at 3.76m (12-4.0) to finish 10th.

- Other competitors on Thursday included Madison Guenzler (10,000m), Chenoa Simpson (javelin), Jonathan Harper (10,000m) and Elisha Jordan (javelin).
