JOPLIN, Mo. – In order to get back for Saturday's commencement ceremony, seniors Joseph Reis-Herron and Tamaira Williams went to Friday's Bill Williams/Bob Laptad Invitational, hosted by Missouri Southern.
News & Notes
- Williams ran a career best 11.42 in the 100m dash, missing the school record by 0.01 seconds as Angela Manuel ran 11.41 in 1998. Williams won the event by nearly half a second and beat her previous career best by 0.11 seconds.
- Williams followed that performance up with an easy victory in the 200m dash with a time of 24.15, besting the second place runner by 1.5 seconds.
- Reis-Herron had the top collegiate time and finished second overall in the men's 100m dash, running 10.43, a career best in the event.
- Reis-Herron also competed in the 200m dash with a time of 22.19 to finish fourth overall and third among collegiate runners.
The rest of the Golden Eagles will be in action Saturday at the Rock Chalk Classic at the University of Kansas.
