Estala Takes Pole Vault Title at MSSU Lion Invitational

JOPLIN, Mo. - The Oral Roberts pole vaulters were in action this weekend as they made the short trek to Joplin, Mo. to compete in the MSSU Lion Invitational. Junior vaulter Justin Estala won his second pole vault competition in as many weeks as he claimed the title Saturday afternoon.

Estala's mark of 5.20 meters (17-00.75) set a new best for the competition this season as the Paris, Ark. native made his fifth top-3 finish of the year. 

On the women's side, junior Tiffany Richeson claimed second place as she hit the 3.95 meter mark (12-11.50). The finish marks her fourth top-3 finish of the indoor season in the event

The freshmen duo of Tommy Dial and Matt Owen each took fifth place in the event with marks of 4.80 meters (15-9.00). Both Dial and Owen each just missed personal bests in the event, respectively.

Coleman, Okla. native Brittany McDonald set a new personal best in the event with a finish of 3.75 meters (12-03.50), breaking her record she set at the Kansas Relays last spring.
