NORMAN, Okla. - Oral Roberts University freshman Amaya Christon earned her first career victory in the long jump Saturday, highlighting the Oral Roberts University men's and women's track team's competition in the J.D. Martin Invitational, hosted by Oklahoma.
The Golden Eagles recorded 14 top five finishes in the meet, including Justin Estala who set the top mark in the men's pole vault with a height of 5.03 meters (16' 6''). Christon won her event easily as she jumped to 5.51 meters (18' 1''), more than a foot better than her previous high mark.
Ana Camargo added a first place finish in the triple jump with a mark of 12.33 meters (40' 5.5''), a top-25 mark nationally. Junior pole vaulter Daniella Szabo added a third place finish as she cleared 3.53 meters (11' 7'').
In the men's 60-meter dash Joseph Reis-Herron had his collegiate best time as he crossed the finish line in third with a time of 6.80 in the finals. Raphael Chihambakwe finished fifth in the same event with a time 7.02.
Freshman Kaleb Presley set an early career mark in the men's long jump as he jumped to 6.79 meters (22' 3.5'') for a second place finish.
