ELMHURST, Ill. - Oral Roberts University freshman sprinter Sonwabiso Skhosana was named the first Summit League Men's Indoor Track and Field Athlete of the Week of the season, the league announced on Wednesday.
A native of South Africa, Skhosana cruised to his first collegiate victory in the 400-meter run at the Bob Timmons Challenge, hosted by Kansas. He finished with a time of 48.47, two seconds ahead of the second place finisher. It was the fifth fastest time in the nation this season.
Skhosana also teamed up with Tinashe Muntanga, Reinhard Ndlovu and D'Khari Hicks for a second place finish in the 4x400-meter relay with a converted time of 3:13.62, the second fastest time in the nation this season.
