ELMHURST, Ill. – The Summit League announced its 2015 Men's and Women's Outdoor Track and Field Athletes of the Year, as voted on by the league's head coaches. For the men, D'Khari Hicks of Oral Roberts was named Track Athlete of the Year and Cody Snyder of South Dakota received Field Athlete of the Year honors. North Dakota State's Erin Teschuk took home Women's Track Athlete of the Year with Western Illinois' Jasmine Brown claiming Women's Field Athlete of the Year.
Hicks is the first Golden Eagle to receive the award since Marvin Bonde in 2010. The sophomore sprinter claimed the 200-meter dash title at this year's Summit League Outdoor Track and Field Championships in a time of 21.08, the second-fastest time posted in the league this season. The Las Vegas, Nev., native also finished second in the 400-meter dash and anchored Oral Roberts' third-place 4x400-meter relay team at the league championships.
