AUSTIN, Texas – Scheduled to have six student-athletes competing at the NCAA Preliminary Meet, Tamaira Williams and Joseph Reis-Herron started the action Thursday in the 100m dash events at Mike Myers Stadium in Austin, Texas.

Williams and Reis-Herron, both juniors at ORU, neared their season bests, but neither was able to advance to the next round.

ORU Competitors
- Williams ran 11.73 in her heat of the 100m dash to finish 43rd overall in the event.  
- In the men's 100m dash, Reis-Herron ran 10.48 to take seventh in his heat and 38th overall. The time was 0.01 off his season best.
- Although accepted into the meet, 2014 All-American Madison Reynolds did not compete in the women's 400m dash.

Up Next
ORU has three more competitors in the NCAA Preliminary Round. Israel Nelson will run in the 110m hurdles Friday at 5:30 p.m., while Ana Camargo (triple jump) and Justin Estala (pole vault) will compete Saturday.
