ORU Leaves Northern Kentucky with 5-2 Win

HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. – The ORU men's soccer team recorded its 11th win of the season with a 5-2 victory on the road at Northern Kentucky Tuesday evening.

Five minutes in to the match Lucca Rodrigues put ORU on the board first with his first goal of the season. Tanguy Guerineau was credited with the assist, his ninth of the season.

Less than a minute later, Dante Brigida made it a 2-0 game with his eighth goal of the season. Reed Berry was credited with the assist, his fifth this year. Brigida's goal puts him tied for first in the Summit League for goals this season and tied for eighth in the ORU record book in career goals.

Juan Arias scored three game winner and recorded his fourth goal of the season in the 10th minute of play on a double assist by Guerineau and Brigida. It was Guerineau's 10th assist of the season and Brigida's first.

Northern Kentucky scored both its goals in the 65th minute of play, 44 seconds apart. Alex Greive scored the first goal and was assisted by Alex Willis. Willis recorded the second goal for the Norse and was assisted by Ali Zohar.

Guerineau made it a 4-2 ORU advantage when he connected on a penalty goal. It was his second goal of the season.

Thiago Dos Santos scored the fifth goal of the match to make it a 5-2 game in the 68th minute. Jose Castro was credited with his first assist of the season.

-Eleven wins is the most wins in a season for an ORU team since the 2004 season.

-Brigida's game winning goal is the eighth of the season and 19th for his career. He is now tied for eighth in the ORU record books for career goals.

-ORU had 13 shots on the night with 10 on goal. NKU had 18 shots with five on goal.

-Miles Motakef played all 90 minutes in goal. Motakef recorded three saves in the game. His recorded improves to 10-1. He now is No. 1 all-time with most wins in a season and third all-time in a career.

-There were 29 fouls in the match between the two teams along with four yellow cards.
