Brigida Records Two Goals in 2-1 Win over Kansas City

TULSA, Okla. – Dante Brigida is the second Golden Eagle to record a brace this season as the ORU men's soccer team defeated Kansas City, 2-1, Monday evening at the Case Soccer Complex.

Brigida recorded his second goal of the season in the 16th minute with a shot from the left side on pass from Reed Berry that was taken 10 yards out.

The Roos tied the match on a penalty kick in the 27th minute by David Ray-Campoy.

Kansas City had a chance to take a lead in to halftime, but was unsuccessful on their second penalty kick of the night. Newcomer, Patrick Consol made the save to deflect the ball out of the goal in the 39th minute of play.

Brigida scored the game winning goal and his second of the night, third of the season, in the 56th minute. After a breakaway by Tanguy Guerineau and a pass from Berry, Brigida gathered the ball off of his chest and connected with the back of the net from 11 yards out. Guerineau and Berry were both credited with assists.

-ORU had 18 shots on the night and held Kansas City to six.

-Junior transfer Patrick Consol got the start in tonight's game and played all 90 minutes. Consol recorded one save and earns his first win of the season.

-There were 28 fouls in the match and five yellow cards handed out in the game between the two teams.

-Junior Chavez made his first appearance of the season and played 23 minutes. Chavez was named to the Summit League preseason Players to Watch list.
