KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Oral Roberts University senior Johnny Chavez earned another postseason honor this week as he was named NSCAA First Team All-West Region.
Chavez led the Summit League this season with 10 goals scored, including three-game-winners, and added two assists, helping him to the league's Offensive Player of the Year award and a First Team All-Summit League selection. It was the most goals scored by a Golden Eagle since Trey Vaut netted 10 goals in 2003.
A native of Tulsa, Chavez become the first Golden Eagle to be named First Team All-Region since Jorge Flor in 2005, and the fifth in program history.
Chavez led ORU to a share of the Summit League regular season title and a spot in the league semifinals in 2014. For more information and updates on ORU men's soccer, follow @ORUMensSoccer on Twitter or visit ORUAthletics.com.
