TULSA, Okla. - The Oral Roberts University men's soccer team returns to Summit League action on Saturday night as the Golden Eagles host league foe IUPUI at the Case Soccer Complex. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
ORU (4-6-2, 0-2-1) stepped away from league play on Wednesday for a home match against Memphis, falling 3-0 to the Tigers. The Golden Eagles are winless in their last four matches, suffering a shutout in each.
It's the longest stretch without a goal since the Golden Eagles were held scoreless in their first four matches of the 1997 season.
A victory over IUPUI (4-6-1, 1-1-0) on Saturday would move the Golden Eagles into a fifth place tie with the Jaguars in the conference standings. The Jaguars are winners of their last two matches, including a 2-1 victory over Eastern Illinois on Saturday, and a 3-2 double-overtime decision over Cincinnati on Tuesday.
The Jaguars boast the top goal scorer in the league entering this weekend's play in freshman midfielder Uriel Macias, who has netted six goals.
The matchup features two of the top goalkeepers in the league as ORU's Ben LaCourse has pulled in a league-high 59 saves, while Eduardo Cortes of IUPUI has recorded 41 saves, third in the league.
IUPUI leads the all-time series between the two programs, 10-8-1, with the lone draw coming last season in Indianapolis, Indiana.
