TULSA, Okla. - The Oral Roberts University men's soccer team plays the first of back-to-back home matches on Wednesday as the Golden Eagles host Memphis at 7 p.m. at the Case Soccer Complex.
ORU (4-5-2) looks to get back on track against the Tigers after droppings its last two matches. On Saturday, the Golden Eagles suffered a 1-0 road loss at IPFW.
Through Saturday's match, Golden Eagle goalkeeper Ben LaCourse is second in the Summit League with 57 saves, and is on pace to break the ORU single season record with 5.1 saves per game, currently held by Andrew Techanchuk who had 4.84 in 2010.
Memphis (6-4-2) snapped a two-match losing skid on Saturday with a 3-2 overtime victory over Central Florida. The Tigers currently sit in sixth place in the American Athletic Conference.
Senior forward Fakhry Khulfan leads the Tigers with five goals, third most in the AAC, while freshman forward Hector Cantele has netted four goals. The Tigers are fourth in the conference with 19 goals scored.
In a meeting last season between ORU and Memphis, Alex White gave the Golden Eagles a 1-0 lead in the 68th minute. However, Hunter Danna scored goals in the 86th and 88th minutes to lift the Tigers to a 2-1 victory.
Memphis leads the all-time series, 7-2.
