TULSA, Okla. - The Oral Roberts University men's soccer team returns home for the first of two matches this week as the Golden Eagles look for a season sweep over Incarnate Word on Tuesday at 6 p.m. at the Case Soccer Complex.
ORU (3-3-1) defeated UIW 2-1 on September 7 in San Antonio, Texas. Trailing 1-0 after the first half, Gerardo Salas netted an equalizer in the 48th minute, and Juan Deigo Padilla delivered the game-winner in the 86th minute.
Tuesday's match is an opportunity for the Golden Eagles to get back on track after a 4-0 loss over the weekend at Denver.
Senior Johnny Chavez enters the week second in the Summit League with four goals and nine points, while Alex White has provided three assists, second-most in the league.
UIW (1-5-0) is coming off its first win of the season on September 20 at Oakland, 2-1. Noah Keats scored the game-winner for his second goal of the season. Keats is the lone Cardinal with multiple goals.
The all-time series between the Golden Eagles and Cardinals is tied at 1-1-1. In 2013, the two squads played to a scoreless draw at the Case Soccer Complex.
The Golden Eagles will close the week with a conference showdown against Omaha on Saturday.
