TULSA, Okla. – Former Oral Roberts men's basketball player Kaelen Malone signed his first professional contract to join APOP Paphos in Cyprus's top league.
The guard played all 32 games for the Golden Eagles in his lone season at ORU earning a starting nod 15 times. Malone led the team with 125 assists, the third most in The Summit League and finished the year third in the league behind a 2.2:1 assist to turnover ratio.
A native of McKinney, Texas, Malone averaged 6.9 points in 23 minutes per game during the 2018-19 campaign. The redshirt senior had a career-high 11 assists in ORU's win over Western Illinois and dished out eight assists in The Summit League Championship quarterfinal game against North Dakota State.
Malone played the summer with Team Raptors 905 in the Eurobasket Summer League in Las Vegas, Nevada, which helped him land a job in pro basketball. In four ESL games, he averaged 13.0 points, 3.8 rebounds and 3.5 assists per game.
