KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Oral Roberts men's basketball team was honored Thursday for its work in the classroom earning the prestigious 2018-19 Team Academic Excellence Award by the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC).
This marks the first time under the guidance of Head Coach Paul Mills the Golden Eagles have garnered the academic accolade and the second time since the award's inception in 2012-13.
The NABC announced the seventh annual Team Academic Excellence Awards, created by the NABC Committee on Academics, recognizing outstanding academic achievement by a team with a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 or better for the 2018-19 season.
In order to earn a NABC Team Academic Excellence Award, institutions in the NCAA, NAIA and NJCAA must count the grade point averages of all men's student-athletes who competed during the 2018-19 season.
