2014-15 #TopORUMoments; #10-MBB Makes First CBI Appearance

TULSA, Okla. – For the fourth time in five years, the Oral Roberts men's basketball team earned a trip to a postseason tournament, hosting UC Santa Barbara in the first round of the CBI.

With the berth to the CBI, ORU has appeared in all four postseason tournaments within the last eight years. For the third time in the last four years, ORU was also selected to host a game, drawing a tough UC Santa Barbara team in the first round.

Led by all-district selection Obi Emegano's 3- points, the Golden Eagles shot 55 percent for the game and topped the Gauchos 91-87 for the second postseason win in the last three years. It wasn't all Emegano though, as Brandon Conley battled one of the best big men in the country to score a season best 14 points while grabbing eight rebounds. Aaron Young scored nine of 11 points in the game to help ORU open up an 86-77 lead with less than three minutes to go in the game.

After holding serve at home, the Golden Eagles went north to take on Loyola in the second round of the tournament. Young carried the load this time with a career best 26 points. Down 17 at one point, the Golden Eagles mounted a furious rally on the road to get within four with 32 seconds to play, but could not complete the comeback, falling 86-78 to end the season at 19-15.

The postseason berth came after ORU beat top-ranked North Dakota State and Denver at home to end the regular season in third place in The Summit League. ORU went on to beat IUPUI 58-56 in the first round of the league tournament as well.
