Postgame Quotes vs. Sam Houston State - 3/1/2014

Redshirt-Sophomore Guard Korey Billbury

On scoring 24 points in the second half
"God, that is all I can say. I was really nervous in the first half when I picked up my second foul. At half time we prayed and I changed my shoes for superstitious reasons and then we came out hard."

On getting the win on senior night
"It was really special to get this win for them, Shawn was my roommate my freshman year and David Mason was the manager and I just love them to death and we had to send them off right."

On the end of the game
"This game seemed long, because the momentum was going back and forth, once we got the lead I became more comfortable and started focusing on stops and rebounds, we always try to get three stops at the end of the game, and I think we did that."

Redshirt-Sophomore Guard D.J. Jackson

On getting the win on senior night
"It was really special because we are together all the time and as teammates it was only right for us to give our best effort to send them out right."

On the play of teammate Korey Billbury
"Korey is a tough match up because he so strong and so physical. Korey was at his best tonight just doing what he does."

Head Coach Scott Sutton

Opening statement
"That was a great basketball game, I felt like both teams played at a high level and both teams competed. Both teams made big shots. I am very proud of our guys, they keep battling and we could just never seem the get over the hump and the last few minuets we stepped up and finished the game."

On finishing strong
"I thought we played with a lot of toughness in the last 3-4 minutes made a lot of stops and made good plays. We made big plays, and stepped up to the free throw line and made the shots."

On getting the win on senior night
"I was very pleased that we could win this game for Shawn and David on their senior night. I think it is important for seniors to go out their last home game as winners, that is a game those guys will remember for the rest of their lives."

On his seniors
"Shawn has been incredible this year on the offensive end and he is consistent as anybody in America, he is always around 20-22 points and just solid all the way around. And David, what a great story. Going from manager to being able to play and being able to play some significant minuets, I am just really proud of them."

On the momentum of the team
"I feel great right now, I really like this team, they have battled and I hope this game helped them grow up and you have to win games like this to win Championships."

On the play of Korey Billbury
"He is playing at a high level, the way he has played the last 3-4 weeks he is just playing with so much confidence. He is so good at getting to basket it makes him impossible to guard."
