ORU Career Notes
Ford begins his third season at ORU ... joined the Golden Eagles in January 2008 after transferring from Ball State where he did not play basketball ... played one season (2005-06) at New Mexico State and one season (2006-07) at College of Southern Idaho.
Started 22 of 23 games played after gaining eligibility at end of first semester ... scored in double-figures in 15 of 23 games -- including his first eight contests -- after joining the squad at the end of the first semester ... gained some notoriety as a highlight-reel dunker in his first ORU season as he made four appearances on ESPN’s Top 10 plays, including twice in a home win over Oakland ... more than one-third (29) of his 81 field goals were dunks ... also led team with 25 blocked shots ... averaged 9.4 points and 7.2 rebounds in 16 Summit League games to earn Summit League All-Newcomer honors ... season’s best effort came at UMKC when he was 7-of-9 from the field in scoring 16 points against the Kangaroos; also grabbed eight rebounds with two blocks and two steals; five of his field goals came on dunks, including three alley-oops ... scored a season-high 19 points at Oakland, adding six rebounds and two blocks ... helped ORU snap five-game losing streak with 13 points and nine rebounds in San Juan Shootout win over South Florida ... had 11 points, two rebounds, and a dunk which made No. 1 on ESPN’s Top 10 plays vs. UMKC ... joined ORU line-up at No. 1 North Carolina and made immediate impact, scoring 10 points on 5-of-7 shooting and grabbing six rebounds in nationally televised game ... finished season with five double-digit rebounding games and four double-doubles.
Spent the fall 2007 semester at Ball State in Muncie, Ind. ... Did not participate in any games ... Played the 2006-07 season at College of Southern Idaho in Twin Falls where he teamed with fellow ORU newcomer Reggie Guyton ... Ford appeared in 27 games with four starts, averaging 7.1 points and 5.6 rebounds per game while shooting 58.3 percent from the field ... Enjoyed highs of 33 points vs. Montana Tech and 13 rebounds against Central Arizona ... Helped the Golden Eagles to a 30-7 record and an appearance in the NJCAA national tournament ... CSI spent 11 weeks ranked in the NJCAA Top 10, reaching a high of No. 6 ... Originally signed with New Mexico State out of high school and played the entire 2005-06 season for the Aggies ... Appeared in all 30 games, averaging 3.4 points and 3.8 rebounds per game while shooting 62.1 percent from the field.
2005 graduate of Portland’s Jefferson High School ... Helped JHS to the Portland Interscholastic League championship as a senior by averaging 10.2 points per game ... Rated as the 20th-best senior by OregonPreps.com.
