TULSA, Okla. – Josh McMinn struck out a career-high 11 batters for the Oral Roberts baseball team and the offense came through with the final eight runs of the game in a 9-3 win over North Dakota State at J.L. Johnson Stadium Friday night.

The Golden Eagles scored in six of eight innings played, including a three-run second inning, and six different players drove home at least one run to pick up The Summit League series opening victory over the Bison. Blake Hall returned to the lineup for ORU and tallied a season-best three hits.

McMinn recorded the first five outs via punch out and went on to allow three runs on seven hits to pick up the win, while Trey Wolf earned save No. 4 finishing the game without allowing a base runner in 2.2 innings of work.

Quote of the Day

"The difference for me was Swift, Hall and Martinez down at the bottom of the lineup continually getting it turned over. I think Swift drew four walks today, I know Anthony had two sac bunts and was hit by a pitch and had a base hit, and Blake had three hits. I thought those guys were exceptional." – Head Coach Ryan Folmar

Turning Point

The Bison struck for three runs in the second inning for a 3-1 edge, but the lead was short lived for the visitors as the Golden Eagles answered right back in the bottom half of the frame. A lead-off walk to Swift was followed by a single from Blake Hall and a sacrifice bunt off the bat of Anthony Martinez pushed both into scoring position. Hunter Wilson ripped a two-run double to right to even the game and Jake McMurray tallied the go-ahead, RBI single to center plating Wilson as ORU moved in front, 4-3, and never looked back.
