Golden Eagles Competing in Summer Baseball Across the Nation

TULSA, Okla. – The Oral Roberts baseball team has seven players competing over the summer in collegiate leagues in preparation of the 2019 campaign. They are representing the Golden Eagles in five different leagues.


Spencer Henson, The Summit League Triple Crown winner, has continued his impressive run at the plate for the Mat-Su Miners of the Alaska Baseball League. He's registered a .458 batting average in six games hitting three doubles and a triple with four RBI. The Pryor, Oklahoma, native also picked up a win in his only appearance on the mound throwing four shutout innings.


A pair of Golden Eagles' pitchers flew north for the summer playing in the Northwoods League as Colton Larkins joined the La Crosse Loggers and Tanner Rogen is competing for the Madison Mallards. Larkins has pitched four times allowing just one earned run over 8.1 innings of work for a 1.08 earned run average. Rogen also has made four appearances striking out four in 4.2 innings of work, including a two-inning save.


Coming off their freshmen year at ORU, AJ Archambo and Brody Gibson remain teammates playing in the Coastal Plain League for the Florence RedWolves. Archambo is off to a hot start hitting .417 with three RBI since joining the team, while Gibson is getting a chance behind the plate playing six games posting three hits and three RBI.


RJ Pearson headed to the Jayhawk Baseball League and is playing with the Liberal Bee Jays where he has a .400 batting average and two runs scored.


ORU fans will quickly learn the play of Isaac Coffey as he gets set to join the Golden Eagles for his collegiate career in the fall. He has a team-leading .600 batting average for the Santa Barbara Foresters of the California Collegiate League.
