TULSA, Okla. – Miguel Ausua was one out away from a no-hitter Saturday en route to an 11-1, run-rule victory for the Oral Roberts baseball team over Fort Wayne at J.L. Johnson Stadium.

Brody Gibson capped the victory in walk-off fashion as he laced a single up the middle scoring Trevor McCutchin from second. ORU tallied 16 hits in the contest led by three-hit efforts from Nick Rotola and Spencer Henson.

The Golden Eagles broke the contest open in the middle innings scoring four times in the fifth before adding three more runs in the sixth for a commanding 10-0 advantage.

Quote of the Day

"Miguel competed well and commanded his stuff all afternoon. I think more than anything he understood the conditions today and that the ball was not carrying very well, so try to go out there and fill up the strike zone. That's exactly what he did." – Head Coach Ryan Folmar

Turning Point

ORU took control of the game in the bottom of the first inning totaling two runs giving Ausua the chance to pitch with immediate run support. Nick Roark hit the first of his two doubles in the game leading things off before the Mastodons struck out back-to-back batters. Three-straight singles from Henson, Riley Keizor and Rotola brought home two, two-out runs as the offense quickly jumped in front of Fort Wayne.
