DALLAS, Texas – The Oral Roberts baseball team out-hit No. 25 Dallas Baptist, but could not overcome an early deficit in an 8-5 loss on the road Saturday at Horner Ballpark.

Noah Cummings and Spencer Henson each tallied three hits for the offense that totaled 13 on the day. Nick Roark and Riley Keizor finished with multi-hit efforts and Keizor led the Golden Eagles with two RBI, coming on the only extra-base hit for the visitors.

The Patriots scored in four of the first five innings of the contest to take control, leading 8-2, before ORU put the potential tying run to the plate in a three-run eighth inning.

Quote of the Day

"We got some timely hits. Obviously, we needed a couple more of them, but you could see us grow and develop at times. I thought we got better today. Not the outcome we wanted, but you're trying to gain experience and learn about your club this time of year. We hung in there, made a run late; just have to do a little bit more." – Head Coach Ryan Folmar

Turning Point

ORU starting pitcher Miguel Ausua was one pitch away from ending a DBU threat in the bottom of the second, but the Patriots were able to draw a two-out walk. The next batter, Devlin Granberg, lifted a three-run home run to push the home side in front, 4-0, stretching the margin too far for the Golden Eagles to overcome. Granberg finished the day with five RBI going 4-of-5.
