ELMHURST, Ill. − With the 2015-16 academic year in the books, The Summit League announced its Academic Distinguished Scholars following the winter and spring seasons. A total of 568 Summit League student-athletes from 12 sports were recognized as Distinguished Scholars.
- Student-athletes must have at least a 3.60 grade-point average in the semester in which they compete and must use a year of eligibility.
- A total of 568 student-athletes from 12 sports.
- South Dakota State led with 95 followed by South Dakota (93) and Omaha (77).
In order to be named a Distinguished Scholar, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.60 grade-point average in the semester in which they compete and must use a year of eligibility. The Distinguished Scholar's breakdown by school are as follows:
- South Dakota State (95)
- South Dakota (93)
- Omaha (77)
- North Dakota State (75)
- IUPUI (61)
- Western Illinois (50)
- Denver (38)
- Fort Wayne (35)
- Oral Roberts (27)
- Eastern Illinois (17) - associate swimming & diving member
