The Oral Roberts' golf programs swept the Summit League Golfer of the Week accolades Wednesday. Freshman Sarah Bell captured the first weekly accolade of her career on the women's side, while senior Cody Burrows earned the fifth weekly honor of his career on the men's side.
The Oral Roberts women’s golf team earned a sixth place finish at the Texas State Invitational, after carding an 881 (282-294-305). UTSA proved to be one of the few teams immune to higher scores on Tuesday, and finished with a 20 shot victory over the rest of the field at 854 (284-285-285).
The Oral Roberts women’s golf team shot a school record-tying 282 in the first round of the spring season and sits in third place after 36 holes at the Texas State Invitational. UTSA leads the way at 569, while ORU has a score of 576 (282-294) after day one of the tournament.
For the sixth-consecutive season, Denver was selected by The Summit League's nine head coaches to win the #SummitWGF Championship in April. Summit League officials released its 2019 Women's Golf Preseason Poll and Golfers to Watch list Thursday.
