TULSA, Okla. – The Oral Roberts women's basketball team will host the 2018 Best Field Trip Ever game against the Central Christian Tigers Tuesday, January 23 at 12 p.m. in the Mabee Center.

About the Opponent

  • The Tigers are playing under Head Coach Marc Golden who is in his first year at the helm.
  • Starting point-guard, Holly Golden, was a walk-on member of the 2016-17 Golden Eagles squad before transferring to Central Christian. She is the daughter of Head Coach Marc Golden.
  • It will be an exhibition game for Central Christian and will not count towards their overall record.

  • Junior forward, Maria Martianez scored 78 points and recorded seven rebounds in the team's last game against Denver. Martianez is currently tied for first in the Summit League in rebounds per game with 7.7.
  • Senior Faith Ihim scored her 1,000th career point against Arkansas and became the 20th player to score at least 1,000 points during her career. Ihim also has more than 500 rebounds, which makes her the 10th player in ORU women's basketball history to have more than 1,000 points and at least 500 rebounds. She scored 22 points against Denver and grabbed five rebounds. She is currently fourth in the Summit League with 7.0 rebounds per game and second in overall field-goal percentage at 61.3 percent. She is also fifth in the league in points per game at 13.6. Ihim was awarded her first-ever Summit League Player of the Week on December 18. She has been named one of 30 finalists for the Senior CLASS award.
  • ORU was picked to finish fourth in The Summit League according to the preseason poll. Faith Ihim and Maria Martianez were named to the Summit League preseason all-league second team.
  • Last game, Maya Mayberry scored 13 points at home against Denver. As a freshman, Mayberry is leading the Summit League in three-point percentage at 48.2 percent. She is also sixth in the Summit League in overall field-goal percentage at 50.6 percent.
  • Head Coach Misti Cussen is in her sixth season at the helm for the Golden Eagles and holds an 86-88 overall head coaching record.
  • After seven games, the Golden Eagles are currently fourth in the Summit League standings behind South Dakota, South Dakota State and Western Illinois.
