TULSA, Okla. – The ORU track and field teams went two-for-two at the NCAA National Championship, with both ORU qualifiers earning second team All-America honors. Israel Nelson (110-meter hurdles) and Mercy Abire (long jump) each finished 13th in the nation in their respective events.
For the first time in the history of the school, ORU was able to have a home outdoor track meet, and the Golden Eagles took advantage of the new ONEOK Sports Complex, hosting a high school and college meet, as well as the 2018 Summit League Outdoor Track & Field Championship.

Sophomore Mercy Abire posted a mark of 6.27m (207) in the long jump to finish 13th overall, earning second team All-America honors, Thursday, at the NCAA Championships at Historic Hayward Field.
