Purnell Earns Top 20 Finish at NCAA Championship

AUSTIN, Texas – Senior Jaden Purnell competed at an NCAA Championship event for the third time in his illustrious career, earning a top 20 finish in the triple jump, Friday, to conclude the 2018-19 track and field season.

News and Notes
- Purnell finished 20th in the triple jump with a mark of 15.63m (51-3.5). He hit the 15.63m mark on his first attempt before fouling on his final two tries. 

- At the conclusion of the meet, Purnell will be named a USTFCCCA Honorable Mention All-American, the third All-America honor of his career.

- Purnell's performance brings to a close the 2018-19 athletic year for the Golden Eagles, who had two All-Americans (Purnell indoor and outdoor) and two freshman All-Americans (Isaac Coffey-baseball, Kevin Obanor-men's basketball) and 56 All-Summit League selections.
