ORU to Face Oklahoma State, Penn State, as Part of 2017 Legends Classic

PRINCETON, N.J./BROOKLYN, N.Y. - Regional Round matchups, which include trips for Oral Roberts to Oklahoma State and Penn State, are set for the 11th annual Legends Classic (@LegendsBball), it was announced Tuesday.

Penn State, Oklahoma State, Pittsburgh, and Texas A&M will host two games on their home courts in addition to playing a pair of games in Brooklyn. They are joined in the Legends Classic by Pepperdine, Montana, Oral Roberts, and UC-Santa Barbara. These four teams will meet in the Subregional Rounds at Pepperdine on Nov. 20-21. Those matchups will also be announced at a later date.

The Legends Classic features Penn State, Oklahoma State, Pittsburgh, and Texas A&M playing in the Championship Rounds at Barclays Center in Brooklyn on Nov. 20-21, marking the sixth year that Barclays Center will host the Legends Classic. Tickets for the Championship Rounds can be purchased through Ticketmaster at 800-745-3000 or at Ticketmaster.com. Tickets are also available at the American Express Box Office at Barclays Center. Matchups for the Championship Rounds will be announced at a later date.

Oral Roberts (Head Coach: Paul Mills, Summit League) - Paul Mills takes over the Golden Eagles' program after spending the last 14 seasons at Baylor, including the last eight as an assistant coach...in the eight-year span, Baylor posted 198 wins and went to six NCAA Tournaments, including this past season's Sweet 16...11 of 15 players, three of whom are starters, are expected to return this coming season, including leading scorer center Albert Owens and Summit League Freshman of the Year Emmanuel Nzekwesi...Oral Roberts, which has been to the NCAA Tournament five times, will be making its first Legends Classic appearance.

Penn State (Head Coach: Patrick Chambers, Big Ten Conference) - Entering his seventh season, Patrick Chambers has brought new energy to the Penn State program...with the Nittany Lions' last two recruiting classes being the two best in school history...this year's roster is highlighted by senior guard Shep Garner, junior Josh Reaves and sophomores Tony Carr, Lamar Stevens, and Mike Watkins...Penn State has been to nine NCAA Tournaments and one Final Four...this will be its first Legends Classic appearance.

Oklahoma State (Head Coach: Mike Boynton, Big 12 Conference) - Mike Boynton, an assistant at OSU last season, takes the reigns of the program in 2017...the Cowboys, who won 20 games and earned an NCAA bid last year, will be led by senior wing Jeffrey Carroll, who earned All-Big 12 honors after averaging 17.5 ppg and 6.6 rpg on 44.4 percent shooting from 3-point...OSU will also welcome a Top 25 recruiting class this coming season...the Cowboys, who will be making their Legends Classic debut, have won two national championships and have been to the NCAA Tournament 28 times, which includes six Final Fours.
