TULSA, Okla. – The Oral Roberts men's basketball team will make a two-game road swing up to Michigan this weekend, beginning the trip with an old conference rival in Oakland on Thursday night. The trip will continue Saturday as the Golden Eagles face Michigan State.
Thursday's game will tip off at 6 p.m. (CT) and will be broadcast on ESPN3 and available online at WatchESPN.com and through the WatchESPN app. First year radio broadcaster Adam Hildebrandt's radio call of the game can be heard at 97.1 FM in the Tulsa area and around the world for free through www.ORUAthletics.com and through the ORU Athletics Front Row App.
• Long time conference rivals, ORU and Oakland will face off for the 32nd time dating back to 1999. ORU holds an 18-13 advantage in the all-time series, but is 6-8 in Michigan.
• A win Thursday would be ORU's third win in the series, having swept the 2011-12 regular season series against Oakland.• The Golden Eagles return three starters and a total of eight lettermen from last year's squad, including three of the top four in scoring, and more than 50 percent of the total points from last year.
• Junior Albert Owens returns as the leading scorer, rebounder, free throw shooter (made) and shot blocker.
• USA Today picked the Golden Eagles to finish seventh, but tabbed freshman Dezmond McDaniel as the league's Rookie of the Year.
