TULSA, Okla. – In its home and Summit League opener, the Oral Roberts volleyball team used a boisterous crowd to rally for a remarkable win the first set, but Denver was able to outlast the Golden Eagles claiming the next three (26-24, 19-25, 18-25, 23-25) Friday night at the Aerobics Center.
TULSA, Okla. – After playing its first 12 matches away from campus, the Oral Roberts volleyball team gets set for its home opener at the Cooper Aerobics Center Friday night at 7 p.m. hosting four-time defending Summit League champion Denver. The Golden Eagles remain at home Sunday as the Coyotes of South Dakota come to town for a matinee at 1 p.m.
The Oral Roberts men’s golf team fired an 872 (285-292-295) and took third place at the Memphis Invitational. Chattanooga held off a charge from host Memphis and won the team title at -13, 851 (286-285-280). Cody Burrows finished as the tournament runner-up at -8 for the tournament, finishing all three rounds under par (68-71-69).
A first round 285 gave the Oral Roberts the overall lead in the first tournament of the year and the Golden Eagles followed it up with a 292 to finish day one of the Memphis Intercollegiate in second place. Chattanooga leads the way at 571 (286-285), while ORU is at 577 (285-292).
SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Oral Roberts men’s soccer student-athletes Dante Brigida and Miles Motakef were named Summit League Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week. Denver senior forward Andre Shinyashiki has also been named this week’s Offensive Player of the Week.

The Oral Roberts women’s golf team fired a season best 294 on Tuesday to finish in fifth place at the Payne Stewart Memorial at Twin Oaks CC. Memphis won the tournament by 13 shots with a 54-hole score of 860, while ORU finished at 897 (300-303-294).

The Golden Eagles face a pair of former Southland Conference foes Northwestern State (Friday, 4:30 p.m.) and Abilene Christian (Saturday, 1:30 p.m.) before facing Tulsa in the finale (Saturday, 7:30 p.m.).
