2017-18 #TopORUMoments; #2 – BSB – ORU Sweeps Summit League Championships

TULSA, Okla. – The ORU baseball team claimed its 18th straight regular season championship and 19th straight tournament championship as members of The Summit League and earned a spot in the NCAA Championship for the 28th time in school history.

Highlighting the tournament championship game was senior Noah Cummings, who broke the school RBI record with a sacrifice fly in the ninth inning. The two-time Summit League Player of the Year, Cummings passed current ORU assistant coach and ORU hall of famer Ryan Neill's mark of 199 RBI.

With three walks, two hit-by-pitches and a sacrifice fly, Cal Hernandez did not register an official at-bat in six plate appearances in the championship game, but scored twice and had two RBI, earning Tournament MVP honors after batting better than .500 for the tournament.

Cummings, Hernandez, Riley Keizor, Josh McMinn and Andrew Pace were all named to the All-Tournament team.

ORU earned a spot in the Fayetteville Regional, where the Golden Eagles faced national runner-up Arkansas as well as Dallas Baptist.
