Milos Grabs Summit Player of the Week Honors

ELMHURST, Ill. - Oral Roberts University freshman Laura Milos was named Summit League Offensive Player of the week, the conference office announced today. Milos is the first recipient of the award this season.

Katie Acker from Denver and Hailie Ripley from IPFW shared Summit Defensive Player of the Week honors.

A freshman from Porec, Croatia, Milos was named to the Pepperdine Asics Classic All-Tournament Team after smashing 63 kills in three matches. The outside hitter had five kills on Aug. 29 in a 3-0 loss to Nevada before exploding one day later. In ORU’s morning match against South Alabama, Milos recorded 29 kills in a 3-1 win over South Alabama. Later that night, she added 29 more kills as the Golden Eagles took down Pepperdine, 3-1.

For the week, Milos averaged 5.73 kills per set and put up a .324 hitting percentage.

Milos and the Golden Eagles open play at the Dr. Mary Jo Wynn Invitational on Thursday, when they face host Missouri State. First serve in Springfield, Mo., is scheduled for 7 pm CT.
