W. Golf Trio Earns WGCA All-American Scholar Honors
CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. – The Women’s Golf Coaches Association announced its All-American Scholars on Wednesday, a list that included three members of the Oral Roberts University women’s golf team. A total of 664 women’s collegiate golfers were recognized between Division I, II and III for having at least a 3.50 cumulative GPA.
Lee carries a 3.82 cumulative GPA after a perfect 4.0 last semester. Last year, she posted the best finish of her career in the Southland Conference Championship. She finished as the tournament’s runner-up, her first career top-10 finish. She was second on the team with a 77.4 stroke average for the season and earned honorable mention all-conference honors.
With a 3.66 career GPA, Torres had her best finish at seventh, shooting eight over par and finished second on the team, leading the Golden Eagles to a team championship in the 17-team field at the MSU/Payne Stewart Memorial. Torres also posted a top-10 finish, tying for ninth overall, in an ORU victory at the Jackrabbit Invitational.
Aviles holds a 3.64 cumulative GPA in the classroom and on the course posted a top-10 finish in ORU’s home tournament, the Bob Hurley ORU Shootout, tying for ninth overall as the top ORU finisher at the event. She was the second highest finisher for ORU in two other tournaments, including the Southern Utah Invitational, helping ORU to one of three team titles on the season.
