#TopORUMoments from 2013-14; #4 – Baseball Tops No. 9 OSU
TULSA, Okla. – The Oral Roberts University baseball team had a number of marquee wins over the course of the season, but perhaps none bigger than when the Golden Eagles topped #9 Oklahoma State 15-8 in front of a sellout crowd at J.L. Johnson Stadium.
With the win, ORU made it four straight victories against Big 12 member schools and three straight victories against nationally ranked teams this season. ORU topped Kansas 8-7 on the road on March 11, and swept Oklahoma 3-0 (March 25) and 2-0 (April 8), holding the second best offensive club in the Big 12 without a run in 18 innings of action.
The game was played in front of a sellout crowd with 2,418 fans in attendance, the largest crowd at J.L. Johnson Stadium since March 23, 2004, against Oklahoma.
After two innings, ORU held a 6-1 lead and looked poised to run away with things. The Cowboys answered with four runs in the fourth and three in the fifth to take an 8-6 lead that could have crushed the morale on the home side.
Instead, the Golden Eagles answered right back with a five-run inning, including a two-run double by Logan Domenico. ORU added four more runs in the seventh to give the final 15-8 score, giving ORU nine unanswered runs to end the game.
This is the seventh of 10 editions of the #TopORUMoments from 2013-14 as selected by the ORU Media Relations Department and a social media poll.
