TULSA, Okla. – The Oral Roberts University baseball team battles for a season sweep against in-state rivals on Tuesday as the Golden Eagles travel to Stillwater, Okla., to face the Cowboys of Oklahoma State. First pitch from Allie P. Reynolds Stadium is set for 6:30 p.m.

ORU enters the final week of the 2014 regular season with a 29-23 mark. The Golden Eagles have won six of their last seven games, including a weekend series victory over Abilene Christian to keep pace in the Southland Conference Tournament race.

Junior Jose Trevino had a pair of two-run home runs last week, moving his total this season to 10. Trevino has recorded 31 round-trippers in his career, two shy of entering the ORU top 10 for career home runs.

Projected starting pitcher Phillip Wilson had a career evening in ORU’s 5-2 win at UALR last Wednesday. Wilson (2-1) made his longest career appearance, going five innings and striking out a career high six batters for the win.

The Cowboys have a 38-13 overall record and are ranked as high as number six in the newest rankings released on Monday. Over the weekend, the Cowboys swept Kansas State, outscoring the Wildcats 31-9 in the series. OSU has won nine straight games, last losing a contest on April 25 at Texas.

Leading the Pokes this season at the plate is Big 12 Hitter of the Week, Zach Fish. The junior went 6-12 against Kansas State, with two home runs, scored five times and drove in seven runs, five of which came during Sunday’s contest. Fish has a team high .330 average, 10 home runs and 38 RBI’s.

ORU has won five of the last six games against the Cowboys, including a 15-8 decision at April 22 at J.L. Johnson Stadium. Trevino led the Golden Eagles with three hits, highlighted by two doubles, scored two runs and drove in a runner, while Fish went 2-5 with a home run in the earlier matchup. The Golden Eagles trail in the all-time series, 33-29.

The game can be heard on AM 1550 and 94.5 FM locally in Tulsa with Geoff Haxton on the call. Live stats will also be available on via
